ROUND 5
West Coast Fever v Melbourne Vixens

  • The Fever will be pleased with their Round 4 win but are they ready to step it up another level when they take on the Vixens?
  • The Vixens suffered a shock upset and their first loss of the season in Round 4 but have maintained their position on top of the ladder.
  • Fever haven’t beaten the Vixens since Round 13 of the 2018 season.

Queensland Firebirds v NSW Swifts

  • The Swifts enter the match coming off their first loss of the season and will be looking to rectify their errors on court with a stronger performance against the winless Firebirds.
  • The Firebirds are inching closer to their first win after they drew in Round 4. Can they cause the upset of the round and use their home court advantage to defeat the Swifts?
  • Firebirds defender Kim Jenner is one to watch after she scored a whopping 110 Nissan NetPoints last round with 8 deflections, 7 gains and 4 intercepts. She will have a big job on her hands with the likes of Sam Wallace, Helen Housby and Sophie Garbin all firing.

Collingwood Magpies v Adelaide Thunderbirds

  • The Thunderbirds will be soaring with confidence after a win against the top team in Round 4 and they are sitting in 5th on the ladder as they charge towards the top 4.
  • The Magpies know they have the strength and depth to take it to any team but have struggled to get over the line. Shimona Nelson continues to be their dominant goaling option and will look to her to get ahead of the Thunderbirds.
  • 18-year-old Thunderbirds shooter Georgia Horjus started the year as a training partner but continues to dazzle and cement her spot within the league as the weeks go on.

Sunshine Coast Lightning v GIANTS Netball

  • Lightning got their Grand Final redemption win in Round 4 while the GIANTS couldn’t get their second win of the season, drawing with the Firebirds.
  • The GIANTS haven’t beaten Lightning since Round 1 of the 2018 season and the last time they met, the Lightning came out on top by four goals.
  • It will be the battle of the tall goal shooters, with Lightning’s Cara Koenen coming off a Nissan Player of the Match performance and GIANTS’ Caitlin Bassett wanting a win against her former team.
