ROUND 14
Collingwood Magpies v Queensland Firebirds

  • The Firebirds will be buzzing after defeating the minor premiers last round and will want to take this momentum into their final game of 2020.
  • After a tough season, the Magpies will need to work as a collective unit to get over the line and get their second and final win of the year.
  • With no finals on the horizon for either team, it’ll be about finishing the season on a high. The last time they met, the Magpies claimed their only win of the season winning by 4.

NSW Swifts v GIANTS Netball

  • Last time they played, the Swifts defeated the GIANTS by 2 so the GIANTS will be hoping to even the ledger and take home some state rivalry bragging rights.
  • The reigning premiers need this win to try and snatch third place on the ladder .
  • The GIANTS will be disappointed to miss a second consecutive finals campaign but will go out fighting and hope to add one more win to their 2020 season.

West Coast Fever v Adelaide Thunderbirds

  • Fever have hit some serious form at the right time of the season and will be going into finals knowing they can match it with all of the top four teams. They will want this win to sneak into second on the ladder.
  • This will mark co-captain Chelsea Pitman’s final game for the Thunderbirds so they will want to send her off with a win.
  • Flash back to Round 1 when these teams last played, the Fever got the four points comfortably against the Thunderbirds by 12.

Sunshine Coast Lightning v Melbourne Vixens

  • They cemented the minor premiership in Round 12 then weren’t at their best last round, so the Vixens will want the league to know they are the real deal with a win against the Lightning heading into finals.
  • The Lightning are heading into their 4th Finals Series and will do everything they can do earn that second spot on the ladder with a win.
  • The Vixens will be hoping Vixens’ co-captain Lizzy Watson gets the green light from the physio to make a return for this top of the table clash.
