ROUND 7
West Coast Fever v Collingwood Magpies
- When these two teams played each other in Round 4, Fever came away with the win by just one so the Magpies will be out for redemption.
- The Magpies have moved to the bottom of the ladder while the Fever sit just out of the top four.
- Fever captain Courtney Bruce will need to rally her troops to bounce back after a flat Round 6 performance which gave the Firebirds their first win in over a year.
GIANTS Netball v Queensland Firebirds
- In Round 4, The GIANTS and Firebirds delivered the first and only draw of the season, so both teams will be extra determined to claim this victory.
- The Firebirds are coming off their first win in 370 days so they’ll have a boost of confidence behind them.
- Keep your eye on the match-up of two Australian young guns, Firebirds defender Kim Jenner and GIANTS shooter Kiera Austin, who continue to impress.
NSW Swifts v Sunshine Coast Lightning
- It’s another Grand Final re-match and only percentage separates these two teams on the ladder, with the Lightning sitting slightly higher in second place.
- The Lightning stamped their authority over the reigning premiers in Round 4 with a dominant win, so the Swifts will have an enormous drive to even the ledger.
- Cara Koenen keeps delivering for the Lightning and was again named the Nissan Player of the Match last round, as was Swifts defender Sarah Klau. This match-up will be one to watch.
Melbourne Vixens v Adelaide Thunderbirds
- The Thunderbirds caused an enormous upset when they defeated the Vixens in Round 4, so the Vixens will have a point to prove in this match.
- The Vixens remain on top of the ladder and the Thunderbirds are looking to hold their position in the top four.
- Thunderbirds shooter Lenize Potgieter continues to shine with her accuracy, supported by two young guns in Georgie Horjus and Sasha Glasgow, but the Vixens’ goal circle has experience and depth. Which will get their team across the line?
