ROUND 12
West Coast Fever v NSW Swifts

  • The Fever continue their strong stride into the top four wining five matches in a row and asserting dominance over the Lightning last round. Can they now topple the reigning premiers and cement themselves as serious Grand Final contenders?
  • For the Swifts, it is all about protecting their second spot on the ladder as they sit even on wins with Lightning so every win from here on in is precious.
  • Fever goal shooter, Jhaniele Fowler is dominating the competition with 609 goals from 650 attempts. Will Swifts defender Sarah Klau be able to put a stop to her?

Collingwood Magpies v Melbourne Vixens

  • The second installment of the Victorian Derby could be interesting as the Vixens remain the benchmark of the competition while the Magpies are still searching for their second win of the season.
  • Last time they met, in Round 1, the Vixens were victorious and they will be extra hungry to get over the line again this weekend for co-captain Liz Watson’s 100th game.
  • Geva Mentor continues to be a shining light for the Magpies in 2020 and they will need her firing again this weekend, backing up her 90.5 Nissan Net Points performance from last round.

Sunshine Coast Lightning v Queensland Firebirds

  • The Firebirds are coming off the back of a thrilling win against the Thunderbirds last round. Their young guns Tippah Dwan and Kim Jenner are on fire at the moment.
  • The Lightning suffered an uncharacteristic enormous loss in Round 11 and need to win from here on in to protect their third position on the ladder.
  • Will Karla Pretorius‘ 100th national league milestone game be the fire in their belly the Lightning needed to get back on the winners list?

Adelaide Thunderbirds v GIANTS Netball

  • After Round 11, the GIANTS sit in 5th position on the ladder and are holding on tight to squeeze into finals. This is a must win game against the Thunderbirds if they want to remain in contention.
  • This weekend will be the Thunderbirds’ final game at home and they will want to end their run with a win against the GIANTS to keep a glimmer of finals hope alive.
  • Can the intercepting extraordinaire Jamaican Shamera Sterling shut down the shooting specialist English Jo Harten?
